Public theology is a field of theological study aimed at assisting Christians in:

1. Identifying public issues,

2. Living out their faith in practical ways, and

3. Engaging in meaningful dialogue with society.

 

In the context of traditional teachings within the Chinese church, there is a notable lack of emphasis on equipping congregants to discern and respond to contemporary social issues from a biblical perspective. This gap presents a significant challenge that the Chinese church in North America must urgently address.
